This book describes the experiences of many menstruators around the world and discusses the prevalent taboo around the subject and the long-term negative effects of period poverty.
2. Periods Gone Public: Taking a Stand for Menstrual Equity by Jennifer Weiss-Wolf showcases the author's firsthand account of the fight for menstrual equity, and discusses why menstruation has become a political cause (with things like tampon tax, etc..). Weiss-Wolf also touches on the new movement surrounding menstrual justice and gender equality.
3. Period by Emma Barnett describes period poverty and the consequences of inadequate access to menstrual products on menstruators around the world. One of these effects includes absenteeism, where a lot of girls miss school and women also miss work.
